Sales Manager Fluidized Bed Process Technique
Below is a partial list of projects realized so far by SCHWING. We are glad to provide more details upon request:
Processes which can be run in multistage mode in a continuously working fluidized bed reactor have proven beneficial. For example, recycling processes for oil-soaked soiled catalysts have been able to be run continuously, in spite of compact feed material, in horizontally working fluidized bed reactors through special modification of the first reactor stage. Products with a high moisture content were also fed to the reactor and dried in the first stages. Their surface structure was subsequently treated specifically and discharged via a cooling stage.
The continuously working vertical fluidized bed reactor with integrated heat transfer system and condenser is an interesting concept. It is used, for example, to perform continuous gas conversion at an upstream catalyst, where a certain amount of used up catalyst is purged and replaced by a fresh one. The new desired gas component is obtained via the downstream condenser.
The BCR series is designed individually to the customer requirements and projected process areas. The fluidized bed bench scale reactors from SCHWING are intended for the treatment of powdery, organic and inorganic solids with air or nitrogen as well as the study of their reactions. An additional connection for other reaction gases is available for special applications (H2, NH3, CO2, propane, etc.).
The fluidized bed technology achieves remarkable temperature accuracy and delivers an excellent heat and material transfer due to the very high thermal conductivity and gas-solids contact surface. The fluidized bed bench scale reactors of the BCR model series from SCHWING represent ideal pilot systems to reproduce fluidized bed reactor processes on a small scale. With a useful reactor volume up to 120 liters the systems are designed for a temperature range from room temperature to 1100 °C.
A fluidized bed reactor is a process-technology system with numerous plant-specific and process parameters the compliance of which is essential for the intended use. At SCHWING the training of the operating personnel begins with free testing offered in the early phase of a project. These tests are preferably performed in the presence of the future customer; different systems are presented to them and individual solutions proposed.
Training is continued after the installation of the ordered system. The targeted training of the operating personnel is very important, in addition to basic technical orientation. Apart from handling the “hardware” and the required environmental protection and safety aspects the operators also learn about the relationship between particle sizes, fluidized bed and fluidization gases enabling them to assess these elements.
A variety of fluidized bed reactors is available for contract production. Reactor sizes from 6 to 120 liters useful volume of different design parameters can be used for the production of up to one ton of material. Larger quantities are possible upon arrangement.
If the process parameters were not ascertained at SCHWING, a confirmation test in the dip reactor (up to eight liters) is required as a preparatory measure.
