Making Plastics Processing More Efficient: SCHWING Technologies Presents Thermal Cleaning Solutions at Fakuma 2026

PressReleases News Events SCHWING Technologies

From October 12 to 16, 2026, SCHWING Technologies will be demonstrating in Friedrichshafen how tools and machine parts can be quickly, safely, and cost-effectively cleaned of plastic residue.

Neukirchen-Vluyn, October 2026 – When the international plastics industry gathers at Fakuma in Friedrichshafen from October 12 to 16, 2026, SCHWING Technologies will once again be there. The specialist in thermal cleaning technologies will be providing information in Hall A3, Booth 3111, on modern solutions for removing plastics and organic residues from molds and machine parts.

The focus will not only be on the equipment manufacturer’s various thermal cleaning technologies. The question of how cleaning processes can be made more cost-effective, sustainable, and efficient is also becoming increasingly important for many companies. After all, high-quality molds and machine parts are expensive. Thorough cleaning can extend their service life, reduce unplanned downtime, and help ensure consistent production quality over the long term.

“At Fakuma, we’d especially like to show companies the options available to them for making their cleaning processes more efficient—from the right equipment technology to professional contract cleaning,” says Christoph Mittler, sales specialist at SCHWING Technologies. Together with Viktor Brandner, Head of Contract Cleaning, he will be available at the booth to answer visitors’ individual questions and discuss specific application scenarios.

The Right Cleaning Technology for Different Requirements
SCHWING Technologies offers various thermal cleaning processes and can thus process a wide range of tools and machine parts. These include components from the injection molding and extrusion industries as well as parts from the plastics, fiber, and recycling sectors.

For smaller and non-sensitive components, as well as numerous applications in the injection molding sector, the INNOVACLEAN thermal fluidized-bed technology is used, for example. Among other things, this process is suitable for cleaning injection nozzles, perforated plates, screw elements, backflow preventers, and other smaller mold components.
For larger and more complex components, SCHWING offers vacuum-assisted thermal cleaning with VACUCLEANtechnology. In the electrically heated cleaning chamber, organic plastic deposits are removed in a controlled manner that is gentle on the material. Depending on the system size, the item being cleaned, and the polymer, this technology can be used to clean, for example, extruder screws, filter elements, film blowing heads, nozzles, pelletizing tools, or other machine parts.

Another key focus is on MAXICLEANtechnology, which is used in particular for larger and hard-to-clean components. This allows, for example, extensive hot-runner systems and other large components to be freed of plastic residues.

Cleaning as an Alternative to Replacement
Especially in times of high investment and production costs, the reconditioning of existing components is gaining importance. Instead of replacing machine parts that are contaminated or clogged with plastic, professional thermal cleaning can be a cost-effective alternative.

“Our customers often come to us with a wide variety of challenges. Together, we determine which process is best suited for the specific component, the plastic, and the desired cleaning quality,” explains Viktor Brandner.

SCHWING Technologies does not merely offer the construction of corresponding cleaning systems. Through its contract cleaning service, the company also handles the cleaning of customer components as a service. This allows companies to first familiarize themselves with the technology in practical use, outsource individual cleaning steps, or bridge short-term capacity bottlenecks.

Focus
on Cost-Effectiveness and Sustainability In addition to the reliable removal of plastic residues, the cost-effectiveness of the entire cleaning process is playing an increasingly important role. Modern thermal processes can help reduce manual cleaning work, shorten machine downtime, and restore high-quality components to working order.
Energy consumption and the avoidance of unnecessary resource use are also increasingly coming into focus. SCHWING Technologies is therefore continuously refining its thermal cleaning systems and is focusing, among other things, on electrically heated systems that can be operated with electricity generated from renewable sources.

Visitors to Fakuma 2026 are invited to discuss their specific cleaning challenges with SCHWING experts. Whether it’s a hot runner, injection molding tool, extruder screw, filter element, nozzle, or other contaminated machine parts—at Booth 3111in Hall A3, the focus is on determining which process makes the most technical and economic sense for each specific application.
